Chicken (or turkey) Crescent Almondine Hot Dish

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken or turkey
  • 1 can cream of chicken or cream of mushroom
  • 8 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
  • 4 oz. can of fresh mushrooms
  • 2/3 cup mayo
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz. crescent dinner rolls
  • 2/3 cup shredded swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 3 or 4 tbsp butter

Preparation

In a large pan, combine all ingredients above, except: swiss cheese, almonds, butter, and crescent. Cook over medium heat until hot and bubbly. Pour into ungreased 12 x 8 in or 13 x 9 pan. Separate one 8 oz. can of crecnt dinner rolls into 2 rectangles. Place over hot chicken mixture. Combine 2/3 cup shredded(??) swiss cheese, 1/2 cup slivered almonds and 3 or 4 tbsp. of marine cooled. Spread over (___________) Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes, unitl crust is deep golden brown.

Serve 8-10 people
